Dennis Johnson

For those that hadn't heard, Dennis Johnson died of a heart attack. If you were a Piston fan in the late 80's how could you forget this....

Rest in peace DJ

Berlin

A little late but I have Karneval to blame. Those pictures will be coming soon.

We went to Berlin with Tony and Jenny and spent two days doing a GREAT deal of walking and seeing virtually every sight you can imagine. We were a little sidetracked by how COLD it was. We saw our first winter weather and I, for one, did not dress the part.

The pictures speak for themselves but Berlin (for me) was fascinating with the amount of history and rebirth that smacks you in the face around every corner.

enjoy and leave some comments

Tony is sad. His wife did not get off the subway fast enough, the door closed and off she went to points unknown.

Here is the window in the Bebelplatz looking down. It's an empty room of bookshelves. This is the spot where the infamous Nazi bookburning took place

New pictures and a new city (for Kelli)

Here are the pictures from Vienna (a week too late). I like Vienna a lot. I think it is a better version of Paris. Kelli's love for Paris stops her from agreeing with me but I think we both enjoyed our weekend there.

We spent two days walking all over the city, found some GREAT restaurants and just enjoyed what was really nice weather. It hit 60F (16C) on Saturday which made sightseeing much easier.

This weekend, we are making our way up to Berlin. I've been there once before but this will be the first time for Kel. A TON of history (obviously) and museums are probably on the itinerary. Not really the best time of the year to see a new city but off we go nonetheless.

The Naschmarkt

This was the Saturday morning Flea Market at the Naschmarkt. See the bottle of Rum on teh table? This Hungarian guy was selling shots of Rum for a Euro. No, I did not buy one, it was only 10 O'Clock.

Street Shot

Old Hapsburg Palace

This was REALLY cool. Vienna built a bunch of ice paths and rinks all through this city park. Must have taken forever (and a lot of money)

A Sacher Torte from the Hotel Sacher - It's supposed to be a Vienna delicacy - It was good but I wouldn't fly to Vienna for it
