Weekend in Brussels, Belgium

Dan had a somewhat odd 30 birthday last year as we moved to Germany ON his birthday, so I figured he deserved a more special one this year. We spent this weekend in Brussels, Belgium as I knew he would be happy anywhere with beer. Brussels ended up being a surprisingly charming and fun city. We learned a lot about Belgium in general on a city tour and learned that people speak more French then Flemish. Went on a Belgium Brewery tour (I'll let Dan explain this one later) and Dan topped off the day by having a fantastic massage before we headed to dinner. The food was great - favorites of Dan's were the mussels, oysters, and Belgium waffles. I really enjoyed the pastries, cookies, and beer that has a raspberry flavor to it absolutely awesome (Dad - I now know why you like those windmill cookies - they are all over the place here and in the Netherlands, too). This coming weekend we head to Basel, Switzerland to meet up with Amy and Brian. Cannot wait to see our friends!!!

Dan's actually birthday in Tuesday, so we plan to head to dinner with friends and then to the Irish Pub...

Have been meaning for weeks to post a congrats to Brad and Lori as they had their bundle of joy, Jack Bradley, a few weeks early. We couldn't be happier for them and of course want to share some pictures...
